Beginning as the afternoon cools your guide, chef Nutth will lead you at a leisurely pace to some of the coolest parts of Chinatown. Amble through the maze of alleys, peek into homes and temples, stop to eat or walk with Thai drinks and snacks. We recommend skipping lunch, after 17 different food and drink tastings, you’re gonna be feeling full!
Chef Nutth will explain the history of the area, it’s people and their food, point out and explain the raw produce on sale and lead you from one hidden gem to another. Gorge on lemongrass infused mussels, rich peanut satay with grilled coconut chicken, hot steamed buns, the best Thai curry in Bangkok and much, much more. As the sun sets you will reach the main strip in all its neon glory, here you will sample a strange but refreshing local dessert. We round the tour off with everyone’s favourite……fresh deep fried doughnuts accompanied by Thai green pandan custard.
These tours have been carefully designed to balance the five taste sensations – sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami.
Chef Nutth has planned this tour carefully, taking into account the weather, crowds, and timing to ensure you get the best culinary experience possible and the opportunity for some really awesome photo opportunities.
This is a food adventure for chefs and foodies alike.
Note: Unfortunately, this tour isn’t suitable for vegetarians.
We recommend not eating much on the day of the tour. By the time you finish this tour you’re gonna be feeling seriously full. Im mak as they say in Thailand.
Note: Although we visit every stop, we cannot guarantee every vendor is available. In the unlikely event a vendor is closed for the evening, an alternative will be found.

The tour begins from Yaowarat’s Chinatown Gate. 322 Tri Mit Rd, Talat Noi, Khet Samphanthawong. Your guide will be wearing A Chef’s Tour t-shirt and holding a sign. We’ll provide more details along with the address in Thai on your voucher to show your taxi driver.
This tour is designed for adventurous eaters with an interest in discovering the food locals eat. It’s a walking tour, but the pace is gentle, the terrain flat and there are plenty of rest (eating) stops along the way. Wear comfortable shoes. During rainy season, please bring an umbrella as tours go ahead rain or shine! Be prepared for a cultural experience and a taste of local life that’s very different from back home.
