Moui Tipsribud

Moui hails from Lampang, but has called Chaing Mai home for over 20 years. With a passion for Northern Thai cuisine and cooking, Moui knows where to eat in Chiang Mai and the hidden spots you'd never find alone.

Don’t follow the herd… Hop on board and ride around town with us in one of Chiang Mai’s famous rod daeng trucks. Delve into the history behind Northern Thai food and the influence Burmese cuisine has had on the region with your foodie guides, Moui and Pin. These two ladies know the Chiang Mai food scene like the back of their hand and will lead you away from the crowds on the most exciting food tour in town.

After starting with a delicious plate of khao ka moo (braised pork in five spice) from the famous cowgirl, it’s time to venture outside the old city walls to some of the best secret street eats and real local markets. Dig deep into the city’s underbelly; explore how locals shop for ingredients and watch the city’s butchers at work.

*Sorry veggies, this one isn’t for you, but stay tuned for a meat-free Chiang Mai food tour coming soon.

**Street food vendors take time off too, so we can’t promise every tour will be the same, but fear not, the night will always be packed with good stuff.

Reviews: What other people think...

  • "This is an absolute must, especially if you are on a short stay. You will experience traditional Thai food in some of the strangest places unknown to most tourists. For the brave there are some really exotic treats to savour. From start to finish, there is not one dull moment."
    Corrie M.

  • "It takes you to authentic restaurants frequented by locals, which are exactly the kind of places we search for on our travels. These aren't the type of places you can easily find on Google. You need a local expert like our guide Moui to find places like these. She was a fantastic guide who clearly has a passion for food."
    JBmacatulad

There were not many tourists at the places we visited, so you know the tour is targeting a really authentic and unique experience. The food is incredible too."
